Clovis Community Medical Center

2755 Herndon Avenue • Clovis, CA 93611 559-324-4000

Clovis Community Medical Center is a top choice for minimally invasive surgeries, women’s services, sports medicine, screenings and diagnostic procedures. In 2007, 2008 and 2009, Clovis Community was recognized as the top bariatric surgery center in all of California and has long been a top choice for expectant mothers in the region. Along with a full spectrum of acute-care services, Clovis Community offers the area’s premier breast care center and a comprehensive outpatient care facility.

Clovis Community is expanding to meet the need of its growing region and recently completed a 22,500-square-foot addition and renovation to the outpatient care center. It includes the most advanced (Level 3) fertility center between Los Angeles and Sacramento, expansion of the Marjorie E. Radin Breast Care Center as well as new operating rooms and a dedicated endoscopy center.

Further plans include the largest-ever expansion on the Clovis campus– a $285 million project that will make Clovis Community the first comprehensive, full-service hospital in the region to have all private rooms, nearly tripling in size to 739,000 square feet. Groundbreaking is set for early 2010 and expansion and renovations over the next few years will include a new, five-story bed tower, a dedicated women’s pavilion, a special care nursery and a new parking structure. The emergency department will also expand to accommodate a projected 50,000 patient visits annually.

Private donations will be needed to complete the vision. You can be a part of the vision at Clovis Community Medical Center with a private gift. Whether it be a $20 contribution or a major gift to name a part of the hospital, you can help by contacting Community Medical Foundation at (559) 459-2670 or by giving online.

Marjorie E. Radin Breast Care Center
Early Detection • Advanced Treatment • Comprehensive Care

We take a different approach to breast care – a complete approach. We not only have state-of-the-art imaging technology for detecting breast conditions, but also a complete team of specialists for follow-up when needed.

While nearly 80 percent of lumps turn out to be harmless, learning you have one can be alarming and following-up quickly is critical. Additional tests and procedures – sometimes requiring a series of specialists – are often the next steps. If cancer is the final diagnosis, treatment can include a combination of surgery, radiation therapy and medication and too often, women feel they’re being bounced from office to office for the care they need.

At the Radin Breast Care Center, we have specialists in imaging, diagnostics, surgery, pathology, cancer care, nutrition and emotional support – all under one roof – and they meet together to coordinate a custom treatment plan for each patient. Our nurse coordinates all of the appointments so patients can focus on getting better.

Because screening mammography remains our most effective tool in the early detection of breast cancer, we have convenient screening appointments, including Saturdays. For more information or an appointment, call 559-324-4848.

Palliative Care is the active total care of patients facing a life-threatening illness where the focus lies in optimizing quality of life through expert management of the patient's pain and other symptoms, psychosocial and spiritual problems. It views the patient and family as a unit and provides support in what can be an over-whelming time for all involved. Palliative care affirms life and recognizes that death is a normal part of the life cycle and does not intend to hasten or postpone death. This approach to care is applicable from the time a pateint is diagnosed with a life-threatening illness.

Palliative care differs from Hospice in that the patient does not have to be terminal and may concurrently seek curative therapy while receiving palliative care services. To be eligible for hospice, a patient needs to have a prognosis of six months or less and must forgo curative therapy.
